Delta Air Lines Celebrates 15 Years of Continuous Service To Peru Delta Air Lines celebrates with increased momentum and regional growth its 15th anniversary of nonstop service between the United States and Peru. Peru is also one of the most important markets for Delta Cargo ─ which is responsible for handling cargo shipments worldwide ─ in Latin America, with more than 45,000 cargo ton miles carried from Lima on a daily average. “We are proud of celebrating 15 years of service to the Peruvian market, and we will continue to support progress and growth in the market and offer the best products to suit the needs of business and tourists,” said Nicolas Ferri, Delta´s vice president, Latin America and the Caribbean. “Through our hub in Atlanta, we offer the most convenient connections especially in the Lima-Tokyo route, one of preferred international destination for our customers traveling from Peru.” Delta offers seven nonstop flights per week between Lima and Atlanta, connecting Peruvian travelers with the more than 1,000 daily flights to 208 destinations that Delta operates, including nonstop service to 65 international destinations. Seeking to improve customers’ experience both in flight and on the ground, Delta has made a major investment at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with a new international terminal, which opened in spring 2012 and features full signage in Spanish through the airport. Delta has invested $3 billion during the last two years to improve customer on-board experience by remodeling its fleet to include the popular Economy Comfort seats in flights to and from Peru, as well as expanding its state-of-the-art entertainment system with a library of 250 movies, 100 TV programs, 50 hours of HBO, video games and kid-friendly programs. Delta recently introduced the eBoarding Pass service for all passengers travelling from Lima. The eBoarding Pass option can replace the traditional paper boarding pass by sending a barcode to customers’ mobile devices when checking in online. Peru is one of four Latin American markets where Delta offers the eBoarding Pass service to customers, along with Mexico, Chile and Puerto Rico. Major products shipped by Delta Cargo from Peru include asparagus, mangos and snow peas.
