DesertPoint is definitely one of the world’s best waves and by rights is a household name throughout the surfing community. Unfortunately it is also one of the world’s most fickle waves. It needs a huge groundswell before it’ll begin to break. When it does though, it produces ultra-long, mesmerizing barrels. To make it even harder to score, DesertPoint is extremely tide sensitive. Even during a large swell it can be dead flat on high tide before jacking to double overhead when it hits low.
