Design Engineer [2] Positions Available Have two positions to fill one located in Michigan one located in Ohio SUMMARY: Responsible for the development of design solutions for products. Accountable for performing a variety of engineering work; which may be related to applications, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, or safety. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops and defines product specifications and performance requirements to determine product design. Provides technical information concerning materials, properties and performance that affect product engineering planning. Evaluates product modification proposals for feasibility by conferring with supporting departments. Plans and formulates engineering projects based on cost and time target requirements. Prepares or supervises the development of bills of materials and associated part and tool costs for assigned projects. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications. Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product and assembly. Plans and develops experimental test programs and then analyzes and uses the test data to drive appropriate changes. Coordinates activities for implementation of approved engineering changes. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software (Pro/E) and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks. Performs other relevant duties as assigned; i.e. special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc. Desired Skills & Experience Education/Experience: q Bachelor degree in an Engineering Technical or Scientific discipline q Proficient in the use of Word, Excel and 3D CAD software.
