Despite high winds and unhealthy air warnings (dust and sand), we trecked to the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix today. The extremely well kept and groomed desert plant life was mixed with incredible glass figures, all created by Dale Chihuly, and artist who in the 70s developed and is most often given credit for the start of the Studio Glass movement. A sample appears below. Most of them are huge....some standing as tall as 30 feet. They are also lighted from within, so we look forward to returning after dark sometime soon to see the magic again.
