News Article on todays Star : Joho asks for session to adopt logo The Mombasa county government has requested county assembly speaker Thaddeus Rajwayi to convene a special session to adopt the official county logo. Members of the county assembly are on recess and are boycotting their legislative duties in protest over the failure by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission to increase their pay. Mombasa deputy governor Hazel Katana yesterday told the Star Governor Hassan Joho has already had discussions with Rajwayi over the request. The county government is still using the national government logo on its official documents. The new logo was designed by a local designer after his design was picked among several others. According to Katana, he did not ask for a penny for his work, saying it is his contribution to the development of the county. “The logo is in its final stage of adoption but this has been hindered by the MCAs’ recess. If they were on session, we would even be using it by now,” said Katana on the sidelines of an inspection tour of the Mombasa stadium repair works yesterday.
