#Devotion I Cant Do Without It! Many people fail to achieve their life purpose because they are not willing to give up what they love to attain what they must have. I was thinking about this scripture that we all know so well and I saw it in a new light. John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Sin had separated the human race from having an intimate relationship with God. That interfered with the goals that God had set when He created the earth and all in it. What was God willing to do to attain His goal? The bible say that God was willing to give up what he loved the most......his only begotten son! God was willing to have Christ away from heaven for 33 and a half years for the sake of attaining His goal. Can you imagine heaven without Jesus? That is the price God was willing to pay to have you and I reconciled with Him. He was willing to give up to gain. I thought about that and I asked myself what is the most valuable possession that I own? Would I be willing to give it up to attain my God ordained purpose? Many times as Christians, we are not ready to make sacrifices to attain that which God has laid in store for us. We are always on the lookout for a quick fix. We want to pray and hope that things will be ok but we do not want to make sacrifices. God was willing to give up Christ because He had to have us. He could not imagine living in eternity without us........Thats even hard to comprehend! Ask yourself what it is that you must have because of what God has called you to do? Then ask yourself what is it that you have to give up to attain that thing. Are you willing to give it up? It may be time, money, relationships, family, a location………. Practical Application If you must have it, you will have to give up something......are you willing to pay the price?
