Devotions from the Lord`s Prayer (8) Mat 6:13b For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Why may we pray the Lord’s prayer and believe God will answer it? The very first word of this portion of the verse answers that question, and provides us with a sure foundation for our faith. “For” or we could say “because”; the kingdom we have asked to be manifested on earth belongs to Him. It is God’s kingdom, the domain of the King. “For” all power, not only the power to grant our desires but all power, belongs to Him and exudes from Him. “For” all glory is His. He is the source and full expression of glory! We may pray “hallowed be Thy name”, because just speaking His name, just the sound of His name is Holiness! His name is glorious! His name is all powerful! His name is above every name that may be named in heaven, on the earth and under the earth, and will be forever and ever! Beloved we may rest in full assurance that when we pray this prayer that the Father hears our prayer and will answer. There is no question about whether or not we’re praying the Lord’s will because Jesus instructed us to pray this way. This prayer, like the Psalms of David, ends with a note of praise, of celebration and Jubilation; recognizing the preeminence of the Father. Prayer: Lord I thank you for hearing my prayers, for the very privilege of being able to communicate with You. May all my prayers be empowered by faith and based on the love I have for you and those that you have placed around me. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen Your prayers are precious to the Lord. May you learn to pray fervently and often until yours becomes a lifestyle of prayer Dr John
