Diamonds Part – 4 Romans 8: 28 -- And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose Offence is a blessing blocker. It is a negative emotion/reaction or feeling to a circumstance or comment. When people show hatred towards us, we immediately get offended. The Word of God instructs us to respond with love to those who hate you. It is very difficult and our flesh will scream with refusal. But if you obey God’s Word and walk in love, you will see results in your life. The next process in procuring a flawless diamond is the “bruting process “Bruting is the process of giving shape to the rough diamond. It can only be shaped by another diamond having a sharp edge. In our lives, the Lord places people with sharp edges and we wonder why. We have often prayed to Him, asking Him to separate us from these kinds of people – either in our office or in our homes and even in our neighborhoods. Ever wondered why there is so much friction in the family or the prayer group? It is because the sharp diamond is placed on the shapeless diamond, making it round and beautiful. Now think of the “diamond” as people. They are put in our lives to shape our lives, and change us into flawless “diamonds”. When you are in a crisis, and you make a decision to do what God’s Word instructs you too, there will be two notable changes: 1) Your character will undergo a change. 2) You will be victorious. Remember, friends don’t change you; it is our enemies who cause a change in us! For example: If there are two bosses in the office, one a stickler for discipline and the other very lenient. The disciplinarian will insist on you reporting to work on time. He will set a high standard for completion of work and will always expect an outstanding performance from you. The lenient boss will demand quality on occasions, but on the whole is easygoing and does not set very high standards of work. Working for the disciplinarian for a month will cause a change in your character – the quality of your work will improve, your laziness is gone, your capacity to handle work has increased and all this has come about because of the expectations of your strict boss. Hence, if you are surrounded by roaring lions, your capacity will be better than before. Ironically, we almost always pray and ask God to get the lion out of our life, because we don’t want to change. But God in His infinite wisdom wants us to change and become more and more like His Son Jesus Christ.
