Did you know Byron Sigcho is an Ecuadorian American? Many ask where the Sigcho last name comes from. It is native Ecuadorian. Byron was a guest speaker at the Ecuadorian Festival recently. Byron gave a speech before a crowd of hundreds urging people to put democracy into practice and vote. The message was a clear call for people to go out and vote! If you are unable to vote, encouraging others to vote, or become a citizen in order to elect people who truly represent the interests in our communities. Unity was emphasized. We all face the same challenges and barriers. We need to see each other as one community in order to overcome these challenges and build a strong community. Our youth need to be involved in the community and become leaders and good public servants. Our politicians do not represent us, its time for change!
