Difference between my two boys: I tell them they can ride their big wheel/ tricycles to either end of the block, turn around and come back. I look up and noons is gone. I walk down around the corner and he has crossed the alley and is on the other side of the block. The kid is adventurous. Ready to see he world. Brave and confident. I collect him and tell him that someday soon he and his brother will be able to ride their bikes around where ever they want. As I repeat this to Malachy his response is like when were 16? To which I say no, this time will be much sooner than that. I tell him how when I was a kid we went to the park without our parents all the time. This causes nothing but distress.
