Digital TV Reception If you are experiencing trouble with your TV reception we recommend the following: - Contact the relevant broadcaster (ABC, GWN etc) - Contact a licensed antenna installer to check your aerial and TV setup (check local rag for contact details) - Contact the Digital Ready Hotline on 1800 20 10 13 - Purchase a VAST Satellite system The Australian Federal Government is responsible for communications, as such the Local Government (in this case the Shire of Irwin) is limited in its ability to advocate on behalf of residents experiencing issues. In January 2012 Council resolved the following: That Council advises the Digital Switchover Taskforce that it intends to switch off the self help analogue transmitter tower so that residents currently served by the tower may move to the VAST service and subject to eligibility receive assistance under the Satellite Subsidy Scheme. This decision was made based on the information, feedback and evidence provided at the time. Since the switchover the Shire has received very minimal feedback in regards to poor reception. The Shire would be interested in collating any feedback received through our formal customer service request process (direct call to 9927 0000 or email to [email protected]) in regards to inferior quality of service. Prior to making an official request we ask that you follow the dot points outlined above to ensure the issue is related to poor reception and not a technical or broadcasting fault.
