Digitally remastered using 24-bit, 96KHZ Yeah right! Is that why a cd mastered in 1985 at a much lower resolution and old converters sounds so much better than one mastered in the last 10 years? Take Stevie Wonders cd catalog for example. If you have the late 80s/early 90s masters consider yourself LUCKY, as the 2000 Remasters sound like absolute shrill, compressed, crap--squashed to death, badly eqd, and lacking in dynamics, while the old cds sound fantastic. So...in closing, converters dont mean much if your mastering engineer is going to ruin the signal at its crucial stage with limiting/brickwalling/bad EQ!
