Dinner out tonight was at Kelseys Steak House, in Valparaiso. We started out with a full order of the Tower of Onion rings which were thick cut and served with three sauces (ranch, spicy ranch and a sweet & sour sauce) and a HUGE portabella mushroom, I believe stuffed with crabmeat and minced onions and then smothered in cheese. The husbands ordered the full slab of ribs and the wives ordered the 8oz prime rib with an add on of grilled garlic shrimp, cup of clam chowder (clams in every bite!) and choice of potato. As if we were not stuffed already, I broke down and agreed to see the dessert tray... wow.. it looked all delicious. there was a twixt cake slice, banana & walnut cake slice, strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries on top, I think a cheesecake with pumpkin and the Howie, which was a chocolate cow cake stuffed with chocolate ganache. We ordered Howie and he was heavenly!! Our Howie came to us laying on his side, another table got their Howie standing up with birthday candles coming out of his head. Howie tasted like a Hostess Ding Dong. Our server was Verna and she was spot on and extremely attentive.
