Disclaimer: Not trying to bash feminism in any way with this post. I just am simply looking for some insight. If feminism is a movement to promote the political, economic, and social equality to men, then why isnt that last one highlighted in times like these. Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson are both suspended, under huge public uproar, from both genders, yet Hope Solo slides by scot free after domestic abuse scandals. Social equality would mean that she would be facing the same penalties they did, even before they were proven guilty in a court of law (remember-neither football players have been yet). Just doesnt seem right to me. Not trying to argue about the 100 other things that women dont have fairly but simply why Hope Solo gets favorable treatment in this setting. By terms of feminism, she should be the subject of feminist outcry and persecution.
