Disconcerting aspects of being a night shift home care nurse: 1) being totally alone at night with your patient in a big house is seriously the plot for a horror movie 2) being totally alone at night in your patients home gives one way too much access to the familys personal life/information/possessions (this is not something that I enjoy at all in the slightest) 3) being totally alone at night in your patients home makes you hyper-vigilant about weird noises that normally you ignore. 4) you wish the family had a lovable but protective Doberman that would sit next to you all night long.
