Do a little homework: in your favorite search engine, put in these two words: GMO cancer See what you get. Read some of the articles. Then look at this study on the effects of GMO on our DNA. A while ago on these pages was discussion of a proposed AZ bill regarding labeling foods as GMO or non-GMO. BUT it allowed labeling of cattle fed GMO grain to be labeled as non-GMO! Which on its face is ridiculous. The GMOs from the grains get into the bloodstream, into the tisues, then we eat those same tissues with the GMOs in them. How are we not consuming GMOs? So basically if the meat is labeled as non-GMO when it has been fed GMO, then the label is a lie. REMEMBER, many countries [perhaps 60?] have banned GMOs! Or required strict labeling. Even some counties in the U.S. We have a right to CHOOSE to consume GMO or not, so we must have correct labeling, INCLUDING if GMOs are fed to chickens, cattle, pigs or any other animal used for food. From the article: This includes derivatives of GM crops such as high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) from GM corn, for instance, and soy protein from GM soybeans, ----as well as meat derived from animals fed a GM-based diet.---- Their [GMO] presence is also associated with major inflammatory conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, adenoma and colorectal cancer. The presence of transgenic genes in the small intestine was also found to affect the composition of beneficial bacteria, which are responsible for protecting the gut against foreign invaders and helping the body absorb nutrients from food. One small mutation in a human being can determine so much, the point is when you move a gene, one gene, one tiny gene out of an organism into a different one you completely change its context, said David Suzuki, co-founder of the David Suzuki Foundation. There is no way to predict how its going to behave and what the outcome will be. naturalnews/045710_GMOs_gene_transfer_DNA.html.
