Do not fear Manchester United fans. After a rather lacklustre start to his tenure at Old Trafford, David Moyes has received word that the club’s board plan on giving him 180 million pounds to spend over the summer in an attempt to keep the Red Devils competitive in what is the most cut-throat domestic competition in the world. The former Everton manager is already planning out his retail therapy, with his first piece of business set to be young Turkish midfielder Yardis Alpolfo. Described as a wonderkid by many pundits, the Galatasaray prospect is likened to Yaya Touré as a big, strong and nimble central midfielder with a canon of a right foot. In a match against Trabzonspor last November, Alpolfo rifled a volley from 30 yards, still going upward as it almost burst the net of the goal. Moyes, upon seeing the footage for the first time, was astounded. “I’ve never seen a ball hit like that. It defies physics almost,” the Scot remarked when interviewed by Sky Sports. We want him to be a pivotal part of our midfield. He is the missing piece of the puzzle.” It’s believed Galatasaray want 30 million Euros for the youngster, who is set to lead Turkey’s charge to qualify for Euro 2016, after Ay Yıldızlılar failed to qualify for this year’s FIFA World Cup. Quite fittingly, Yardis Alpolfo is an anagram of April Fool’s Day.
