Do not let your adornment be merely outward--arranging d hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel-- rather let it be d hidden person of d heart, with d incorruptible beauty of a gentle & quiet spirit, which is very precious in d sight of God. (1 Pt, 3:3-4). Outward adornment is not condemned neither referred to as sin here. But always bear in mind that moderation is required. We have to be modest in our appearance. Even at this, inward adornment is much more required to complement d outward. Both d outward moderated adornment & Holy Spirit directed inward adornment work together to Glorify God. The verses is not talking to women alone but also men. Inner beauty is seen in how much we operate in d word & how much d word also operate in us. No matter how physically handsome or beautiful we are, if there is no trace of d word of God in us, we are ugly than d monsters. Nobody is ready to marry a MONSTER. Thats why we see wives who nag & not submitting & husbands who bully & not loving.
