Do people wearing protective masks scare you? They dont always - TopicsExpress

Do people wearing protective masks scare you? They dont always have something contagious, they (I!)just cant physically afford to catch anything else. ..so dont be creeped out, or think you need to avoid me, when I wear mine. I thankfully have a good sense of humor and find it kind of funny when I get on an elevator and everyone backs away and I have no problem telling them Im not contagious, YOU ARE and giggle... I can tell the cellcept (one of the many treatments Im on for Myasthenia Gravis) is finally kicking in!! My neuro said it would take 4-6 mos, and its been 4 mos! :) I just have to wear a mask and scare people when I go to crowded places (especially hospitals, movies, grocery stores) and keep my kids hands sanitized when they get home from school/playing because it lowers your entire immune system. I am lucky so far, no colds or anything contagious, and Im on very strong probiotics now, and all is well...as long as I avoid sugar (which encourages growth of the candida) and the crazy hot and humid weather we have (just normal Louisiana summer lol) because I get weak lungs and muscles from MG not being able to tolerate heat, especially combined with humidity. I also have other autoimmune diseases too so Im on thyroid meds (graves disease) and see a pain management specialist (ankylosing spondilitis in my spine, neck and hips...which is very painful, especially upon waking up in the morning). ***Please dont see this as complaining, I have WAY more to be thankful for than I have to bring me down and Gods Grace is SUFFICIENT for me!!*** Now for a little re-explanation of Myasthenia Gravis: womenwithmg.org/mg-in-the-simplest-of-terms/
