Do you know anyone who has chronic hallotosis? Everyone has foul - TopicsExpress

Do you know anyone who has chronic hallotosis? Everyone has foul mouth odor occasionally but Im talking about people whose breath is so stank that one whiff brings water to your eyes and temporarily impairs your cognitive functioning. We all know someone with this problem. The question is, why do we avoid telling the person? Why is it such a difficult topic to bring up? Were quick to tell someone if they have toliet paper on their shoe or a twig in their hair. If we feel the relationship is secure enough we might even point out that the person needs to wipe their nose with a kleenex or rub some lotion on their ashy hands but when their mouth air is malordorous we suffer in silence trying to breathe through our mouths until they stop talking. Truth be told it is unkind to allow someone to leave our presence with bad breath knowing they will be assulting others the rest of the day and not save them potential embarrassment by simply saying something but somehow it seems equally unkind to tell them directly. It would be great if there was a universal signal that everyone understood like tilting your head to the left, and everyone would know when someone looks straight at them and tilts their head to the left, that is code for your breath stinks. The person with the issue would understand and the self-explanatory signal would eliminate the need for an awkward exchange. Could it work? #thingsithinkaboutoncoldwinterdays
