DoJs own analysis shows Civil Forfeiture is substantially less likely to be used for its intended purpose of de-funding crime networks & kingpins, rather it is used as an accepted tool for gap & surplus funding of police departments. No recourse, no oversight = rampant abuse & corruption!!!!! (VA SB686 narrows the scope of permissable asset forfeiture AND provides for a review process. Let your state representatives know you support SB686)
