Does Yogi Bhajans tantric / kundalini yoga cause an increase in undesirable & irresponsible behavior? After seeing how Find Hari Simrans tragic death occurred directly after he completed an intense 4 day Yogi Bhajan kundalini yoga course at the Sat Nam Fest México event, I started to investigate if the occurrences in irresponsible behavior by Yogi Bhajan’s 3HO Foundation cult members are higher than the average occurrence of these types of episodes among the general population. I found that in 2014 there was not only Hari Simran’s death from what at the least seems to be very poor judgment on Hari Simran’s part to go hiking in the dangerous Mexican mountains surrounding the Sat Nam Fest camp; but there was also the gruesome murder of Simran Singh whose son, a member of the Yogi Bhajan cult since childhood, bludgeoned his father’s head a few months earlier! See “Crazy son murders father with sledgehammer” tomonews.net/crazy-son-murders-father-with-sledgehammer-in-quiet-california-neighborhood-148719720579072 Since the surname Khalsa is used exclusively by almost all the Yogi Bhajan followers, I used the name “Khalsa” to search the public court records for the year 2014 at the New Mexico First District Court website. https://caselookup.nmcourts.gov/caselookup/app Now keep in mind that the total population of Yogi Bhajan followers with the surname Khalsa cannot be any more than 100 people within the state of New Mexico. My research showed there were 44 records retrieved under various categories in the year 2014 including but limited to reckless driving, speeding, driving without a license, failure to have insurance, failure to have a legally registered vehicle, complaints for money due, Failure to Maintain Traffic Lane, Driving While License Suspended, No Seat Belts, BENCH WARRANT ISSUED for Failure to Appear in Court, NOTICE OF NON-PAYMENT OF RENT, Failure to Obey Signal , BENCH WARRANT LETTER ISSUED for Issuing a Worthless Check ($25 or More) and Careless Driving (Careless, Inattentive or Imprudent driving). Now this list above was just for 2014. For the past couple of years I found other more serious crimes being filed against Bhajanists with the surname Khalsa in New Mexico, for example, “Breaking and Entering”, “Resisting, Evading or Obstructing an Officer (Arrest)” “Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia”, “Larceny ($250 or Less)”, “Child Solicitation by Electronic Communication Device (Child 13 to 16)”, “Attempt to Commit a Felony, to wit: Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor”. Again, keep in mind that the total population of Yogi Bhajan followers with the surname Khalsa cannot be any more than 100 people in the State of New Mexico. I have not done a complete empirical analysis of how often these types of complaints, shown above, have been filed on average against the general population in New Mexico but it seems to me the number of complaints and charges is much higher among the Yogi Bhajan kundalini yoga followers.
