Domestic violence seems to be the big issue in the NFL this week. - TopicsExpress

Domestic violence seems to be the big issue in the NFL this week. I am glad they are finally taking a stand and trying to do something about it, even if there is a learning curve for all involved. My question is however, why did it take so long? This isnt a new issue. It has been part of the NFL culture since the 1960s. Jim Brown, and OJ Simpson, to name a couple of hall of fame players, were publicly guilty of said abuse against women. Could it be that the growing female fan base in the NFL might be alienated costing them millions of non-profit dollars? Not sure. I just hope that whatever the NFL is trying to do here helps stop the violence, and brings awareness to an issue that much of society seems to have accepted as the norm. That includes the NFL with its willful ignorance. Curious if other pro sports are going to follow suit.
