Donnie Farlow challenged me to list the most influential - TopicsExpress

Donnie Farlow challenged me to list the most influential songs/artists in my life. Actually it IS more of a challenge to narrow this down than I might have thought... Ill try to list in an order that might correspond with my age and make some sense....1) A Day in the Life/Beatles (Sgt Pepper was the first record I ever bought) 2) Im so Glad/Cream (first song I learned on the guitar at age 10) 3) Theres a Place/Beatles (played this album over and over with John Hagle as we learned to play and write music) 4) Black Slacks/Joe Joe Bennett and the Sparkletones (first version I heard was covered by Robert Gordon, but was the song that turned me on to rock a billy) 5) In the Mood/Glenn Miller (took me till I was 25 but finally got turned on to Swing) 6) So. Central Rain/R.E.M. (the band is probably my biggest songwriting influence next to The Beatles)... Lots of favorite artists and songs, but these were pretty influential... inspired me to listen, play also and directed the evolution of my own writing style ... Thanks Donnie!
