Dont know if this makes sense but: Above everything- be empathetic. What does your empathy not your politics, not your skin, not your religion, but your own individual ability to be an empathetic being and human feeling on this plane of life tell you about the pain and suffering of this world, what does it tell you about the holes left in the fabric of our lives by those beings who we love who leave it or are forcefully snatched out of it? What does it tell you about Renisha, and Michael, about Robin, and Phillip, and Maya, about Ruby and the people in Gaza; about Venezuela, and the missing Girls in Nigeria, about the missing people all over- who no one has seen or looked for, for those who are the victims of gun violence, about domestic violence that might be happening up the street from you, about the isolation that any individual feels trying to define themselves and be seen, and respected as having a right to exist in this world. Coming at all that, feeling all that as an empathetic person above all should make you ache for all people, should make you pray for clarity and grasp for love and compassion at the very fiber of your being. Because none of this happens in a vacuum or a little at a time. Its all happening at once. And so, as people of light, and capable of a great capacity of love, we are charged now- to be even greater than our rage, than our sadness, our fear; to heal ourselves, others, and therefore the greater world. This isnt an idea. Feel it in yourself- that emotional energy, what you feel in yourself when you hear these stories is real. And can be used.
