Dr Kpesah Whyte, the acting National Service Scheme boss is questioning somebody how he could be a PhD candidate without having a Masters degree. This is a disappointing question coming from a Doctor. I cant figure how any PhD holder could ask such an elementary question. There are several Universities that offer PhD courses direct to good first degree holders. I have personally enquired about such programs before and they exist in very serious universities in the world. I have observed how extreme partisan patronage can make experts and professionals behave in a strange way. These kind of characters are a danger to our society. You will expect that they become leading light in our society, rather they lead people astray. What was the import of such a question anyway? To expose somebody to public ridicule because he has exposed corruption in the NDC government. Must one with a PhD be the one engaging in this gutterism? I dont know what it is about the NDC party, but otherwise good materials lose their quality thought process ones you join them. Kpesah Whyte should know better. This is a guy who pretended to be an objective analyst and a member of the intelligentsia few months ago. His opinions were mostly skewed towards the NDC. He agreed with everything the government did. And disagreed with everything the opposition parties did. He was so good at his tainted objectivity that President Mahama appointed him as his advisor among several others. After these appointments, President Mahama faced the most difficult times in his presidency dealing with the economy. All those Doctors appointed couldnt do anything to salvage the sinking image of the President. Realising his public ratings had sunk low, the President issued a green letter. Most of the casualties of that green letter were the socalled experts with Doctorate degrees. Dr. Suley Gariba was sent far away from the Presidency. His advise was not needed anymore. Dr. Nii Moi Thompson was transferred to the National Development Planning Commission. There was nowhere to throw Kpesah Whyte away from the presidency, until luck shone on him. The NSS scandal broke. When the former director was indicted and suspended, the President appointed him as acting director of NSS. One will expect Dr. Kpesah Whyte to conduct himself in a manner that will redeem the image of NSS not be engaging in this gutter and cheap politicking. I LOVE GHANA
