Due to the expected weather conditions, the funeral for Bro. Vernon Ritter has not been moved to Wednesday. Here is a copy of the Obituary: Vernon James Ritter, age 90, a native of Edgerly and resident of DeQuincy, was entrusted to Gods loving care on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2014, in DeQuincy. Vernon was retired from Sun Oil Company, a deacon of Hargrove Baptist Church and was a United States veteran of the Army Air Force having served in World War II as a member of the 5th Bomb Group. After retirement, he enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball. Visitation will commence on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, in Hargrove Baptist Church in DeQuincy from 10 a.m. until Christian service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Paul Nugent officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery.
