Dumbell shoulder presses build the front deltoid (the front part of the shoulder). This is the largest part of the shoulder. The shoulder has 3 heads, the front, medial and posterior. When these are developed adequately they create that roundness. Hence the saying shoulders like boulders. Technique is very important before going too heavy.
