During the evening shift of 07/03/2013 personnel assigned to the Troop-D Quality of Life Task Force, where assigned uniformed patrol in marked cruisers to conduct motor vehicle enforcement for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday. A member of the task force was patrolling the back roads of Dayville in search of unsafe motorists. While patrolling Pettingill Road near the intersection of Valley Road, the Trooper noticed what appeared to be an abandoned barn and trailer with several cars parked nearby and a suspicious individual walking near the property. The Trooper and his canine partner, Canine Dutch, investigated to see if a burglary was taking place. The Trooper had the suspicious male remain at his vehicle and approached the trailer and immediately observed two individuals inside the trailer through the open front door. The Trooper immediately recognized one of the individuals as Jude Abellard (street name of “Scar Face”) and observed him drop what appeared to be packages of a white rock substance on the floor. The Trooper requested that both individuals step outside and remain seated until back up arrived. Approximately 6 grams of crack cocaine pre-packaged for sale was located on the person of Abellard and another two bags of crack cocaine pre-packaged for sale weighing approximately one gram that Abellard had dropped was seized. Abellard was arrested without incident for Possession of Crack Cocaine and Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Sell. Abellard was processed and held on $50,000 dollar cash/surety bond and will appear in Danielson Superior Court on July 5th, 2013 for the aforementioned charges.
