EL PASO COUNTY GOVERNMENT HIRES VIRGINIA FIRM WITH NO REGARD FOR LOCAL BUSINESS. Without making any effort to use locally owned IT vendors, El Paso County opts for an absurdly expensive and complex Oracle based solution provided by a Virginia based company. Thanks El Paso County Commissioners, and County CIO Imad Karaki for shipping our tax dollars and jobs out of state for a solution that could have been done by a local business! Peggy Littleton Amy Lathen for El Paso County Commissioner Darryl Glenn, Dennis Hisey, Sallie Clark this is a load of crap! How The Gazette and Colorado Springs Independent failed to call them out on this is beyond me. And I thought our ridiculous City Councilors Miller and King were the biggest problem in our local government. Not to be outdone the county gives local businesses the shaft. Shame on you. There are plenty of local firms qualified to provide the desired outcome with mainstream, well supported solutions. This didnt need to be an Oracle/Linux solution and the conversion will cost local taxpayers millions that didnt need to be spent. And now for the tags and hashtags.... Microsoft U.S. Partner Community, Navakai Inc, Kelly Bain, Colorado Computer Support, Jariah Walker For County Commissioner, Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance, Mayor Steve Bach, Steve Cox, Jan Martin, Jill Gaebler, Merv Bennett, Val Snider. #elpasocountywastestaxdollarswithoutofstatefirm If youll excuse me now, I have a local small business to run (Amnet) supporting other local businesses and jobs.
