EVENING CHAT WITH BABAGANA As it has been my tradition that I always stays outside for a while after magrib prayers, this evening as usual I sat in front of the house after coming back from the mosque. A young Kanuri boy who I always admire and respect because of his intelligence, and focus met me. He ask me if I have watch news today, before I could answer him he start narrating some of the issues he read on the social media. We both agree that violence is not the solution to current challenges Nigeria is facing, but ballot box revolution is the answer. Our discussion turn to argument when he ask me to tell him who like money most between Igbo man and the Kanuri, and i told him that it is obvious that the Igbo man loves money more than any other tribe, even though everybody loves money, but the Igbos can do anything for money. Babagana vehemently disagree with me, he said if I want to prove that the Kanuri man loves money more than the Igbos, I should go to Ramat square in Maiduguri tomorrow and see it for myself. He said if what the people of Borno had faced and are still facing happened in the Igboland, they will not receive or have anything to do with those who had failed to take action. But he said his Kanuri brothers will be attending Jonathan’s campaign in large numbers. He said up to today majority of the Igbos hate the Hausa people because of the civil war. I then told him that it is not true, I told him that no true Kanuri man will attend the Jonathan rally in Maiduguri tomorrow. I told him that even those who may be paid to attend the rally, will eventually collect the money but will not attend the program. Throughtout the discussion, I realize that Babagana was just being too emotional about the situation in Borno. I told him that everyone likes money, irrespective of tribe, I told him that even me I like money provided it is legit. But one thing I agree with him is the fact that the president and his party has nothing to offer the good people of Borno. He has no excuse on how find ourselves in the current situation that we are facing now. The reason why I share this story with you here, is to show and encourage us to follow lawful means of removing Jonathan from Aso Rock. He has nothing to show us in Borno as his accomplishment. If they give you money, collect it, because it is our money, but I will advice us to all stay at home when the president visit the state. The Jonathanians are also deceiving the president just to grab money from him. It is shameful that those promoting the Jonathan campaign in Borno were only fixing Jonathan billboard around six o clock this evening. Yet they have been deceiving him that the are promoting him. May Allah grant us peace in Borno and Nigeria as a whole.
