EX-GHANAIAN SPORTS MINISTER WEEPS MA MA MAA: “I DIDN’T SPLASH GHANA’S CASH ON WOMEN” Former Minister of Sports broke down in tears before the World Cup commission of Enquirer yesterday as he recounted the incidents leading up to the Black Stars players demanding their cash before the game against Portugal. Chairman of the commission Justice Dzamefe had to call for a recess as Mr. Afriyie Ankrah wiped away tears after responding to a question posed by Moses Foh Amoaning as to how the Black Stars could have fared if they were paid on time. The often energetic minister was extremely emotional as he recounted how the players held the nation to ransom, refusing to train ahead of the final group game against the European powerhouse. The ex-Sports Minister also took advantage to deny allegations that he splashed the nation’s cash on ‘the hips of women’ during the tournament in Brazil. He was giving evidence in day two of his encounter with Presidential Commission set up to probe Ghana’s disastrous campaign at the World Cup. Afriyie Ankrah who has since been appointed Minister of State at the Presidency in a highly emotional session dismissed vile allegations he splashed cash on women during his time in Brazil. “My Lord it is not true that I splashed dollars on the hips of women in Brazil,” a highly charged Afriyie Ankrah told the commission when he was given the opportunity to clear the ear on numerous allegations leveled against him. It is also not true that my wife offered catering services during the World Cup.” Chairman of the commission Justice Senyo Dzemefe had earlier delayed proceedings to allow for the ex Sports Minister to regain his composure after breaking down in tears as he recounted events that led to Ghana’s shameful exit from the World Cup. Mr Ankahs appearance yesterday is a continuation of his testimony from Wednesday when he gave a breakdown of how much money was spent on the entire World Cup campaign. Proceedings have since been adjourned to Monday where Afriyie Ankrah is to re-appear.
