SALIC SK President CITY RESOLUTION NUMBER _______ SERIES OF 2013 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE NGCP AND PSALM THROUGH LASURECO TO DEFFER THE POWER CURTILMENT IN THE ISLAMIC CITY OF MARAWI FOR THIS FORTHCOMING MONTH OF RAMADHAN STARTING ON JULY 9, 2013 UP TO AUGUST 15, 2013. Whereas, the holy month of Ramadhan will start on or before July 9, 2013, and it has been an establish fact that the good people of Marawi City including most of the constituents in the Province of Lanao del Sur will converge and stay in Marawi City to observe fasting and other religious rites and cultural festivities, considering that the set of the Provincial government and of most o the political, religious, cultural and civic leaders, and the academe from various municipalities of Lanao del Sur and the Muslim municipalities of Lanao del Norte have their second residences located in Marawi City where they stay and perform fasting and other religious rites and festive activities during the holy month of Ramadhan; Whereas, the above-stated situation has been tremendously increasing the volume of garbage, water, light and power consumptions and all other basic public services requisite of the City government requisite and necessary to cope up and provide such demands; Whereas, it is in this period that the uninterrupted supply of light and power are most needed where all these activities can only be fully and normally achieved if there are uninterrupted supply of light and power; Whereas, ARMM Local Code or (MMAA No. 25) otherwise known as Muslim Mindanao Autonomy Act No. 25 article 474 “ (a) the sannguniang panlungsod , as the legislative body of the city, shall enact ordinances, approve resolutions and appropriate funds for the general welfare of the city and its inhabitants and in the proper exercise of the corporate powers of the city, as provided for under Section 19 of the code. ” Whereas, the entire provisions in the ARMM Local Code otherwise known as the MMAA No 25 are fully consistent with and in truth reflective of Republic Act No. 6734 and in any event Republic Act No. 7160 or the National Local Government Code. NOW THEREFORE, upon motion of HON, ABDANI TAGORANAO ALONTO duly seconded by HON.AMIENQUALID M. DIMAL and HON. ALI AMBOLOTO, it is hereby RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved with urgency, to request the PSALM and NGCP, through LASURECO to defer and/or suspend the light and power curtailment in Marawi City, if any, starting immediately and up to August 15, 2013, the period or preparation for the start of fasting and the post celebration of the holy month of Ramadhan; RESOLVED FINALLY, to furnish copies of this resolution to the City Mayor, HON. SULTAN PRE UMPAR SALIC for approval and likewise transmit the same immediately to PSALM and NGCP through LASURECO.
