... EXPERIENCES OF AN ABA DUDE 2..... After a nice time in Lagos, I had to get on a Morning Benin bound Aero contractors flight. I had a business to attend to in Benin. We in no time touched down in Benin and I took a taxi straight to Ekenwan. Driving through Sapele road, I kept turning My head in amazement, we then got to Ring road benin, mkpu apuom nonu. What did Adams Oshiomhole do to get Benin this glittery? Anyway after my business at Benin, I braced up for the long stretch of the journey back to Aba by road. As my taxi pulled into the God Is Good Bus Terminal at Akpakpavwa road, I got an Aba ticket and relaxed in wait for the boarding call. Finally after thirty minutes I was on my way out of the now Modern Ancient Benin City. We passed Agbor in no time and were speeding past Umunede towards Asaba, on getting to Asaba,Asaba was good anyway. We crossed the Old Dumez constructed Niger Bridge and were into Onitsha, Chineke eee, could this be Upper Iweka ? Upper Iweka was looking neat and good unlike before. In no time We were heading towards Owerri. I was a bit tired and sleepy by the time we pulled over at control for passengers meant for Owerri to alight. Then it was now the Driver and three passengers I inclusive left. The other male passenger was asleep in the front passenger seat. The lady behind me who had been sleeping had announced her awakening with a loud hiss. When the driver enquired to know what was wrong, I heared her say Driver its nothing, I just wish I was alighting here also . In my mind I wondered, could she be having domestic issues that made her wish she wasnt getting home to Aba? Anyway I was so tired and couldnt help but doze off. I was awakened from my peaceful sleep moments later by a violent vibration of the vehicle that we rode in which had entered a pot hole (Gallup). As I looked around, I let out a loud hiss, We were in Aba. Then we began Gyrating in potholes along the Oomne Drive which the driver had taken with other buses to cut off a terrible traffic gridlock at Osisioma Junction. Then it dawned on me when I turned to face her squeezed face why she had wished she alighted at Owerri. I then could hear the driver murmur to himself, No wonder Our company doesnt want to get a terminal here. Everyone who looked at us from outside the air conditioned bus would notice four sullen faces squeezed in anger. Source of the anger they will remain oblivious of, or would I say some of them, because every inhabitant of Aba who does travel would agree with me that after good sights and smooth ride in other cities, Anger about Abas condition would surely envelope you upon arrival to Enyimba city. Only the thoughts of coming home to your loved ones would lighten up your mood, thatd be on sighting them though. Anyway the main thing I was seriously concerned about was the question ringing in my mind like a bell How do I get to Port Harcourt road by National ? Akwobeghi Beans Akwo.
