Earlier this month I got a letter from Kay from Millington whos - TopicsExpress

Earlier this month I got a letter from Kay from Millington whos son died in action in Anbar province, Iraq almost 10 years ago. Today, she wears a Gold Star Pin in remembrance and honor of him. These pins, albeit beautiful, signify the most tragic of loss -- the loss of a loved one (spouse, parent, sibling) who died while in service to our great nation. Although the Gold Star Pins have been in existence for decades, many Americans are still unfamiliar with their meaning, meaning moms like Kay are forced to hear what a beautiful pin, where can I get one? In reality, no mom or family member, would ever actually want a pin. And what they should be hearing is thank you for your sacrifice. God Bless. Join me this Memorial Day weekend to thank all of the Gold Star families out there who have lost those they hold most dear in action. And as we remember the loss of their loved ones, let us also remember them. #GoldStarPins Survivor Outreach Services
