Earlier today I needed a ride to K Mart but it is hard to arrange something like that last minute so I took a chance and made the walk. It was only about half a mile! Against my pride I utilized a wheelchair while there to pick up the few items I was needing. In doing so I met this awesome older gentleman (I believe he said his name was Richard). He saw my brace, asked where my surgery was done and shared his story with me. We talked a while and then when they finally found a bag for me to shop with since there were no available baskets, I resumed my shopping. When I checked out he was clocking out for the day and asked where I was headed. I told him I was headed home. He said I have nowhere to be but a tail gait party, can I give you a ride? I asked if he was sure. He said No use getting all that work done to ruin it, hop in! He gave me a ride home! Angels do walk the earth! And to beat all of that, he apologized that his car was not clean. I just appreciated the gesture! I may never see this fine man again (I hope I do) but I really do appreciate that ride! You never know who you are going to meet out an about! Feeling blessed!!!
