Easy Steps 1, 2 and 3 1. Goal setting. Have not only a long term goal but several related short term ones as well. Try setting a yearlong goal and have quarterly reviews; helps one to keep track of progress as well as the effectiveness of the program. If it is not, change the program! 2. Get started. Pick up a sport, sign up with a gym, engage a trainer, etc. Basically, do not just sit on the thought, get in gear and start moving! If you have not got a clue how to get started, consult with a friend or trainer of your choice. 3. Keep at it. Most people have probably been sitting on their butt for way too long and none got out of shape overnight; therefore, getting back in shape will take some time as well.
