Eco Fresh water, alleged to contain faecal matter, remains on - TopicsExpress

Eco Fresh water, alleged to contain faecal matter, remains on the market, days after it was banned by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS). The Observer has established that the water is selling because some people may be unaware, but especially because it’s cheap. Packed by a Chinese-owned firm, Eco Fresh is selling in many supermarkets, shops, restaurants and on the streets. UNBS Public Relations Manager Barbara Kamusiime said Eco Fresh Foods and Beverages factory was closed on July 15. She said the company failed to conform to UNBS standards of safety and hygiene. But John Ssebaggala, who runs a public toilet at Majestic Plaza mall in Kampala, says he still buys the water because it is much cheaper than other brands.
