Electromagnetism... Will you ever stop being increasingly useful? The US navy is currently testing a railgun that can fire a 10lb projectiles 200km (Seattle to Yakima). The projectiles would have a damage output that would be slightly more than a tomahawk missile, at a fraction of the cost for launch and materials. This same mechanism will be used in the future for launching materials into space many times cheaper ($500/kilo) than present day costs ($25,000/kilo (just to low-earth orbit)) (15 times more valuable than platinum in weight)... I love science.
