Elizabeth Gilbert, when I accepted the #ALS #IceBucketChallenge and questioned who to nominate, you kept popping up, waving your hand, shouting Me! Me! Me! .... at least thats my interpretation of the events leading up to me challenging you to help #strikeoutALS by dumping a bucket of ice water over your head (and hopefully also donating and nominating some very wealthy and generous friends to do the same). Since I dont actually know you -- though you cannot convince me of that, for in my heart, youre my big sis bestie who always tells it like it is, and best of all, gets me (Im sure half the people who read Eat, Pray, Love feel the same way) -- to justify such a random nomination I felt I had to raise the stakes. In your honor I took the #writeon #challenge, which is to write 1000 words daily (for my book). You inspire me, Liz, thanks for that! OK, so heres how it works: youve got 24 hours to accept and complete the mission; if you decline the challenge its asked that you donate $100 to the #ALS charity of your choice. If you accept the challenge (and come on, youre no wimp, so you know youre gonna do it -- said in my best Jersey accent!) fill the biggest bucket you have at least halfway with ice and COLD water and dump it over your head.
