Elizabeth Police are investigating an incident overnight where up to five men broke into a Salisbury East home and confronted the occupants. At about 1.20am, the men forced their way into the Debra Crescent home and threatened the occupants. No one was injured during the incident. As a police patrol arrived in the street, one of the suspects exited the home and left in a stolen blue Commodore sedan. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, which drove at police and took off. A short pursuit commenced but was terminated for safety reasons. Meanwhile, the other suspects left via the rear of the property and escaped over neighbouring fences. A search of the area was conducted with the assistance of dog patrols and the helicopter, but the offenders were not located. The suspects are all described as of Aboriginal appearance. One suspect is aged in his mid to late 20s, with black hair and was wearing a grey hoodie and dark pants. Elizabeth CIB detectives are investigating and believe this incident was not random. The stolen blue Commodore sedan, registration VJX379, was found abandoned at 8.20am this morning in Bracken Avenue, Gilles Plains. The vehicle was stolen from Rosewater on 18 May and used in a petrol drive off from Springbank Plaza on 19 May.
