Emergency Landing at the Ames Airport. We have received a few calls with questions so we thought we would put something out. At about 6:20 pm, we received a call about an emergency landing at the Ames Airport. Ames Fire also responded as a precaution. A small, one engine plane had a problem with its landing gear while landing. The small airplane sustained damage to the front end and propeller, however, no one was injured. The Ames Police Department does not investigate this type of incident. The FAA is on site and will handle the investigation from here. Again, minor incident, no injuries, no fire, etc Enjoy the rest of your Friday evening. It is beautiful out there!.
