Emigdio and I presented this morning at the Rio Arriba County - TopicsExpress

Emigdio and I presented this morning at the Rio Arriba County Health Council on the dangers of GMOs and the threat to our environment and our health. We are making people aware of Ealasid, in conjunction with Los Alamos National Labs Wet Lab bringing GMO Poplar trees to 80 acres of Espanola City land. I read a portion of Rio Arriba Countys Resolution in Support of Declaration of Seed Sovereignty, as follows; Object to the cultivation of GE seeds in general, but especially within range of our traditional agricultural systems that can lead to the contamination of our seeds, wild plants, traditional foods, and cultural property. Eric Vasquez, of the Regional Development Corporation who is in support of the GMO project commented that this did not fall into this resolution, because trees are not specifically mentioned. I would just like to get other peoples opinions on this comment and wondering if trees fall under the category wild plants, or if these resolutions and declarations should be amended to add trees? What do you all think?
