Emilys new school is 12.4 miles from home. Not a huge distance. It can be challenging to get there during rush hour traffic. Weve been leaving at 7am daily, to try different routes. Im super pleased to have noted this morning that weve wittled the course that has taken as much as 45 minutes each way, down to 25 minutes. Not bad! This includes my route back, leading me onto 91Southbound at Trumbull Street, which means that I have to cut across commuter traffic inbound to downtown New Haven, just to get over four lanes to the freedom of 95 Northbound, as I wave to the opposing traffic heading downtown on the southbound side of 95. In case anyone wonders how Im now getting from the shore of East Haven to the base of West Rock in that time, Im taking 95S to 91N to Exit 3 (Trumbull Street) > Prospect Street > Hillside Ave > Munson > Crescent > Fitch > Wintergreen Ave. 25 minutes! A new record.
