Enough is enough, what has happened to protect and serve? Yes, - TopicsExpress

Enough is enough, what has happened to protect and serve? Yes, I realize that the media doesnt show the police that are managing to do their job without being a bully (in other words, doing what they were hired for) but they dont show grocery store clerks or teachers or doctors doing their jobs unless they f*** up either. The thing is, how can we teach our children to think of peace officers (supposedly their actual job title) as being someone they can turn to when they need help and protection, when they are the very ones our children need the protection from? Remember when the police didnt look like jack-booted gestapo from the third reich, or storm troopers from Star Wars? I do. Frankly, I think we need to remind them they are not legalized gangs meant to terrorize the population. They seem to want to justify their actions by saying how dangerous their jobs are, but dont seem to realize that until they start to police themselves, they only make their jobs more dangerous. Wouldnt it be nice, if unlike in this video, when one officer is talking/confronting someone that was obviously not posing a threat, that fifteen other officers didnt feel it necessary to all flock to the scene like moths to a flame? When they all show up and start barking orders they escalate the problem that could have easily been de-escalated
