Environment reflects the condition of the consciousness. The theologians, the medical practitioners, the politicians, and all other individuals who live, or secure their livelihood, by dealing with the public seek to keep the public consciousness in the rut of ignorance by propaganda or advertising; and as long as the public can be controlled - or as long as they, and those like them, can do the thinking for the masses, they can hold the unthinking masses in subjection. These thinkers appear to increase their incomes and grow wealthy for a time, but eventually, because their actions are based on false premises, they finally meet with the distress which comes to all such schemers and parasites.
