Ephesians 3:8-12 Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ. I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord. Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. Paul is taking the gospel message to the Gentiles, and calls this operation a mystery that has been hidden in God. The NLT refers to the endless treasures avaiable to Gentiles in Christ. Through the church this mystery is placed on display that angels, and other heavenly authorities, would know that God is grafting in the Gentiles. After saying that, Paul comes to this conclusion, In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. God is not just inviting the Gentiles into His church, He is doing so publicly and then announcing heavenly support for them: not separate from Israel, but together and united as one body in Christ Jesus. Jesus paid it all, and the Gentiles are reconciled to God. Verse/Commentary courtesy of Verse-A-Day app. verse-a-day/Apps
