(Epropulsion) so electric motors are not new. in the trawling motor scene they have been around for decades. with CAD making these motors more efficient and powerful we are starting to see more and more used as propulsion motors. the Torpedo is a great example. Epropulsion is a new company based out of hongkong that has dedicated itself to developing next gen transom mounted petrol replacements. what it has going for it with its 1kw model is the built in battery, china and hongkong are fast becoming if not already the battery capital of the world and there are amazing LiPo4 battery suppliers already operating out there. creating a modular and removeable battery pack eliminates the traditional leadacid or DC batteries that often take up most of the room. and weight for smaller boats. its larger navy 6KW motor dosnt quite make the cut with the battery side but 6kw is a heavy powerboost. what is groovy is the fast intergration with other electronics. GPSfor example. an off the shelf ready electric outboard with GPS autopilot built in would be a very handy tool for tenders, pot anglers etc. im not SOLD on these yet. but i am extremely curious what the next decade brings. im looking forward to my 30kw phone size battery pack :D Moose epropulsion.hk/
