Eric Enge: Twitter Engagement Unmasked: A study of Over 4M - TopicsExpress

Eric Enge: Twitter Engagement Unmasked: A study of Over 4M Tweets In this study we examined over 4M tweets, and today I published the analysis of 1.9 million original tweets done in Western languages (excludes script based languages like Japanese). In todays post, here is some of the interesting stuff I show: 1. We all know that including media (images or video) in your posts is critical to engagement. This is true on every platform. How much? On Twitter, it increases your rate of Retweets of Favorites between 4 to 12 times! 2. Our data breaks the myth that Time of Day is an important factor on Twitter. There is no evidence at all to support that. 3. Hashtags and inclusion of links can be a small positive for most people, but not so much that you should go far out of your way to add them. 4. Because we used such a large sample size, one of the things we were able to do was break out each metric by social authority. Whether or not some factors are positive for engagement varies with social authority. For example, including hashtags appears to be a negative for high authority profiles! We also evaluated many other factors in our study, so please check out the full post to see the rest! stonet.co/TwitterStudySTC
