Ever since we began preparing for this journey, weve wanted to have at least one day where we hit one hundred miles. To lend some perspective, our daily average for the past two weeks was about sixty. Today we packed camp, ate breakfast, and were on the road by 9:30. The air was thin and hard to breath due to the altitude, but while we went up and down some decent hills, we werent climbing thousands of feet like we did yesterday. We fought wind, but nothing like some of our days in Nebraska and Colorado. We didnt have any flats or other mechanical problems. It is with extraordinary pride that I say that, from the spot where we woke up this morning, to the place where we are sitting now, we rode one hundred and twenty miles. Rule number one: you give me everything youve got. Rule number two: then you give me more.
